UFC 309 takes place on Saturday from Madison Square Garden in New York City, and it’s going to be the most exciting card of the year. Let’s take a look at free play on each of the main card fights to make your Saturday a winning one.
Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic
Jones -625 / Miocic +425 // Total Rounds: 2.5
Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic face off for the heavyweight belt, and when Jones steps into the octagon, eyes are going to be watching. I actually think Miocic has a chance to win this fight, but not enough to put a bet on it, but there is a solid bet that I really like: this fight to go over 2.5 rounds. This feels like one of the fights that Jones is going to dance around the octagon and try to do what he needs to do to win the fight, not look for the knockout. The knockout isn’t coming early. Back Miocic and Jones to go over 2.5 rounds.
Charles Oliveira vs Michael Chander
Oliveira -245 / Chandler +200 // Total Rounds: 1.5
Charles Oliveira and Michael Chander face off for the second time, and in this one I really like the underdogs chances to find success. Chandler is one of the most explosive fighters in the division and he’s going to have empty the gas tank here. Oliveira is a good defensive fighter, but I don’t think he’s going to get the job done here. Chandler is going to use his power and he’s going to get the job done. Back Chandler on the money line.
Bo Nickal vs Paul Craig
Nickal -1350 / Craig +800 // Total Rounds 1.5
I am excited to watch Bo Nickal to fight again, but there isn’t a whole lot of value in this fight. Bo Nickal is the better fighter, obviously and there is no reason that he shouldn’t get the finish here. Craig is going to be a willing grappler with him and he’s going to get himself in a bad position. Nickal does have the knockout power, and he’s going to do it again here. Back Nickal to win by knockout.
Viviane Araujo vs Karine Silva
Araujo +240 / Silva -298 // Total Rounds: 2.5
These are two fighters that are on the opposite end of their careers and it’s going to be the up and comer that is going to get the the job done. Araujo has lost three of his last four fights and she’s going to struggle again here. Silva knows with a win here she can get into the top five, and that’s exactly what she’s going to do here. Silva is an elite submission artist and she’s going to lock in the submission here. Back Silva to win by submission.
