Derrick Lewis Betting Preview
Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis comes into this game with a 26-10 record but he has lost two fights in a row. In his last fight against Sergei Pavlovich it was only 55 seconds into the fight that he was finished by knockout. He was being outstruck 15-4 when he was knocked out. Lewis is averaging 2.57 significant strikes while absorbing 2.57 significant strikes per minute. He mostly wants to keep the fight on the feet and is averaging 0.60 takedowns every 15 minutes. He is successful on 28 percent of his takedown attempts and also stops 55 percent of his opponents takedown attempts. Lewis has been dropping weight heading into this fight, and the hope is the cardio will be improved.
Sergey Spivac Betting Preview
On the other side of this matchup is Sergery Spivac who sits with a 15-3 record overall and he has won two fights in a row. In August of 2022 he faced off against Augusto Sakai and it was in the second round that he finished the fight by knockout. Two fights ago against Greg Hardy he also won by knockout. Spivac is averaging 3.79 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 2.96 significant strikes per minute. He wants to get the fight to the ground and is averaging 4.09 takedowns every 15 minutes and he is successful on 63 percent of his takedown attempts. He also stops 70 percent of his opponents takedown attempts.
Shane’s Free Pick
Lews really isn’t going to be grinding out a decision, so the only real chance for him is to finish the fight. If this was four or five years ago, I might be a little more confident in Lewis, but his chin has weakened, and it’s goingto cost him again in this fight. Look for Spivac to wear down Lewis and this fight is going to be over early. Much like the co-main event that features Da Un Jung, it’s going to be the favorite that finds success. Back Spivac to win this fight by knockout. I am also throwing a few dollars on Spivac to win this fight by knockout in the first round.
