Tim Means and Max Griffin face off on Saturday in a welterweight showdown in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 213 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Tim Means comes into this fight with a 32-13-1 record overall and he has won three of his last four fights. Means last fight came against Kevin Holland in June of 2022 and he lost by submission. He was outstruck 36-21 and he lost early in the second round. Two fights ago against Nicolas Dalby, he was able to win by unanimous decision. Means is averaging 5.01 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.63 significant strikes per minute. Means is averaging 1.02 takedowns every 15 minutes and is successful on 39 percent of his takedown attempts. He also stops 66 percent of his opponent's takedown attempts.

Max Griffin comes into this fight with an 18-9 record overall but he is coming off a fight where he lost. Griffin faced off against Neil Magny in March of 2022 and that led to the split decision loss. Griffin outstruck Magny 67-54 but he was taken down one time, and that led to the split decision loss. Griffin is averaging 4.36 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.94 significant strikes per minute. He is averaging 1.48 takedowns every 15 minutes and he is successful on 50 percent of his takedown attempts. He also stops 75 percent of his opponent's takedown attempts.

This fight really feels like a true toss up. Both of these guys are good wrestlers and also can find success on their feet. Means lost his last fight by submission, but this is an easier matchup going against Griffin. Look for Means to apply the pressure early in this fight and he’s going to get the job done. Back Means to get the job done on the money line.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
