Yazmin Jauregui and Iasmin Lucindo face off on Saturday in a women’s strawweight bout on the main card of UFC on ESPN 41 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. Both of these ladies will be making their major league debut in this fight.
Yazmin Jauregui comes into this fight with a perfect 8-0 record and she could quickly rise up the rankings, especially if she is able to come away with a victory in this game. Jauregul’s last fight came against Claire Lopez in the Last Litana Standing, and she had quite the impressive knockout. She wore Lopez down the entire first period and near the end of it she finally finished the knockout. Each of her last two wins has been by knockout, and six of her eight wins have been that way. The one concern for her has to be how she will respond if this becomes a fight where she can’t get the knockout. Will she able to do enough to pull out a victory?
On the other side of this fight is Iasmin Lucindo who is only 20 years old, but she has already been very busy in her career. She currently sits with a 13-4 record overall and she has won seven fights in a row. In her last fight against Lucrezia Ria in April of 2022 she was able to win by unanimous decision. Back in November of 2021, she was able to beat Sharolayne Almeida by TKO. Lucindo started her career as a kickboxer and she will no doubt try to use kicks to find success here.
Yazmin Jauregui is an elite striker and she is the more polished fighter coming into this one. Lucindo is a good striker, but she really doesn’t want to get into a standup battle, and Jauregui will dominate the fight on the feet. Lucindo doesn’t have the chin to withstand the power of Jaureghui. Back Jauregui to win by knockout.
