Michael Trizano and Lucas Almeida face off on Saturday in a featherweight showdown in the main card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Both of these guys are unranked but is a big fight in the featherweight division.
Michael “The Lone Wolf” Trizano comes into this fight with a 10-2 record overall but he has only one win over his last three fights. In Trizano’s last fight against Hakeem Dawodu in February of 2022, he was outstruck 141-70 and that led to the unanimous decision loss. Two fights ago against Ludvoit Klein, he outstruck his opponent 56-45 and that was enough to win by unanimous decision. Trizano is averaging 3.54 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.93 significant strikes per minute. The Lone Wolf is averaging 0.44 takedowns every 15 minutes and he is successful on 66 percent of his takedown attempts. He also stops 71 percent of his opponent's takedown attempts.
On the other side of this fight is Lucas Almeida who will be making his UFC debut when he steps into the octagon in this fight. Almeida is 31 years old and has a 13-1 record overall and eight of his wins have been by knockout. Back in September of 2021, he was a part of Dana White’s Contender Series, but lost by unanimous decision. In his last fight, he finished in under two minutes by a choke out. This is a fighter that has won by a flying knee, knockout, arm triangle, and punches. He is a strong all-around fighter that is going to be looking for a finish in this fight.
Trizano actually hasn’t been all that impressive as of late, and that lost by Almeida wasn’t a terrible one. Almeida is going to put the pressure on Trizano in this fight, and that isn’t what The Lone Wolf wants. Look for Almeida’s pressure to be too much and he is going to win his fight. Back Almeida on the money line.
