Chidi Njokuani and Dusko Todorovic face off on Saturday in the main card of UFC Fight Night 206 in a middleweight showdown at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Chidi “Bang Bang” Njokuani comes into this fight with a 21-7 record overall and he has won two fights in a row since joining the UFC. His first fight in the UFC came against Mario Sousa in Dana White’s Contender Series in September of 2021 and he won that fight in the third round by knockout. Njokuani’s last fight came against Marc-Andre Barriault in February of 2022 and it was only 16 seconds into the fight that he won by knockout. Njokuani is averaging 3.91 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 1.53 significant strikes per minute. He wants to keep the fight on the feet and he hasn’t had a takedown yet in the UFC. He also stops 78 percent of his takedowns attempts.
On the other side of this matchup is Dusko Todorovic who sits with an 11-2 record overall but he has lost two of his last three fights. Todorovic’s last fight came against Maki Pitolo in December of 2021 and he was dominant in that fight winning by knockout late in the first round. At the time of the knockout, he was out striking his opponent 30-13. Todorovic is averaging 5.80 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.96 significant strikes per minute. Todorovic is averaging 0.63 takedowns every 15 minutes but is only successful on nine percent of his takedown attempts. Todorovic also stops 50 percent of his opponents takedown attempts.
These are both fighters that like to knock out their opponents, and I expect both of these guys are going to come out swinging. Njokuani is a little better with his hands though, and if Todorovic was smart he would try to make this a more technical fight. I expect Njokuani is going to have too much power, and he is going to win this fight. Back Njokuani to win by knockout. It would be a bit shocking if this wasn't the fight of the night.
