Tom Aspinall and Sergey Spivak face off on Saturday in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 191 in a heavyweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Sergey Spivak comes into this fight with a 13-2 record overall and he has won three fights in a row. Two of the last three wins by Spivak have come by decision, and the other was finished by knockout. Sergey Spivak’s last fight came against Alexey Oleynik and that was a victory by unanimous decision. Spivak is 6' 3" and has a reach of 78 inches and a leg reach of 44 inches. Spivak has lost only two fights in his career with one coming by knockout, and the other coming by decision. On the feet, Spivak has a lot of power in his hands and he likes to move forward when he fights. In this fight though, he might need to be a little more careful and try to keep the distance a bit more.
On the other side of this matchup is Tom Aspinall who sits with a 10-2 record overall and since coming into the UFC he has won three fights in a row. Aspinall’s last fight came against Andrei Arlovski in February of 2021, and it was midway through the second round that he locked in a rear-naked choke to come away with the victory. All three fights in the UFC have come by finish with the other two coming by knockout. Aspinall is averaging 7.43 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.06 significant strikes per minute. Aspinall is averaging 3.54 takedowns every 15 minutes, and he is successful on 100 percent of his takedown attempts.
Aspinall knows how to get the fight to the ground, and once he gets it there, the fight is all but over. Look for Aspinall to get this fight to the ground, and Spivak will have zero answer for that. Back Aspinall to get the job done on the money line.
