Paddy Pimblett and Luigi Vendramini face off on Saturday in a lightweight main card showdown at UFC Fight Night 191 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
There is a lot of hype surrounding Paddy Pimblett as he makes his UFC debut. Pimblett comes into this fight with a 16-3 record overall and he has won each of his last two fights in the first round. Pimblett’s last fight came against Davide Martinez in March of 2021, and it was one minute and 37 seconds into the first round that he locked in a rear-naked choke and that led to the victory. Pimblett has made it clear coming into this fight that he has a lot of confidence, and he hopes he doesn’t need the judges to come away with the victory.
Luigi Vendramini comes into this fight with a 9-2 record overall but since coming into the UFC he has lost two of his three fights. Vendramini’s last fight came against Fares Ziam and he was very competitive, but he didn’t do enough as he lost by majority decision. Vendramini is averaging 2.26 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 2.49 significant strikes per minute. Vendramini is also averaging 0.67 takedowns every 15 minutes, but he is only successful on eight percent of his takedown attempts.
Pimblett has all kinds of confidence coming into this fight, and there is no reason that he won’t get this one done early. Pimblett is so skilled and he will wear down Vendramini. Back Pimblett to win by finish.
