Bryan Battle and Gilbert Urbina face off in a middleweight bout for the co-main event of UFC Vegas 35 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the final for the Ultimate Fighter, with the winner taking home the crowd.
Battle was originally supposed to fight Tresean Gore but he had to pull out of the fight with a knee injury. Urbina who lost to Gore in the semifinals has been called up to be the replacement.
Bryan “Pooh Bear” Battle comes into this fight with a 5-1 record overall and he has won four fights in a row. Battle is a submission artist first and three of his last four wins have come by that method. The other win during that stretch for Battle was by knockout, and there is no doubt he is going to hunt the finish in this game. Battle has a lot of confidence heading into this fight, but he can’t be overconfident. He still needs to be careful because he is fighting a good opponent in Urbina, someone who can end the fight if he gets too cocky.
On the other side of this fight is Gilbert Urbina who comes into this fight with a 6-1 record overall but he was defeated in his last fight inside the TUF. Urbina was defeated by Gore, and he needs to get that fight out of his head. The last win for Urbina came back in 2019 against Angelo Trevino and he was able to win that fight by unanimous decision. Urbina needs to be careful in this fight, and not get put in a bad position, or he will lose this fight by submission.
Battle is the much better fighter, and he is going to dominate Gore in this one. Look for Battle to wear down Urbina and I think he will win by submission. I have no issue laying the money line with Battle, but I will also be throwing a few dollars on Battle to win by submission.
