Marvin Vettori and Kevin Holland face off for the main event of UFC on ABC 2 in a middleweight showdown at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Marvin “The Italian Dream” Vettori comes into this fight with a 16-4-1 record overall and he has won each of his last four fights. Vettori’s last fight was against Jack Hermansson and even though he was taken down twice in that fight he was pretty dominant. Vettori outstruck his opponent 164-122 and that was enough to come away wit the unanimous decision victory. Vettori is averaging 4.78 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.19 significant strikes per minute. Vettori is also averaging 1.33 takedowns every 15 minutes and is successful on 45 percent of his attempts. Vettori also stops 78 percent of his opponents' takedown attempts. Vettori is also stopping 0.8 submission attempts every 15 minutes.
On the other side of this matchup is Kevin “Trailblazer” Holland who comes into this game with a 21-6 record overall but he is coming off a loss. In the last fight against Derek Brunson on March 20th, he had issues as he was defeated by unanimous decision. This is a quick turnaround for Holland and he is going to have to be ready early. Holland is averaging 4.14 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 2.58 significant strikes per minute. Holland is also averaging 1.08 takedowns every 15 minutes and he is successful on 45 percent of his attempts. Holland stops 51 percent of his opponents' takedown attempts.
If Holland had a longer rest he wouldn’t be such a big underdog and I think the short layoff actually helps his value.
