Josh Parisian and Parker Porter face off in a heavyweight bout at UFC Vegas 15 on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Josh Parisian comes into this fight with a 13-3 record overall and since coming into the UFC he has gone 2-0. Parisian’s last fight came against Chad Johnson in Dana White’s Contender Series and it didn't take long for him to finish the job. Parisian outstruck his opponent 29-22 and 3:43 into the first round he finished the fight by knockout. Parisian is averaging 7.07 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.97 significant strikes per minute. Parisian has all kinds of power in his hands and he also will try to lock in submission attempts. Parisian is averaging 2.9 submission attempts every 15 minutes so that’s a weapon he could try to use here.
On the other side of this matchup is Parker Porter who comes into this game with a 10-6 record overall, but in his only fight inside the UFC he struggled. Back in August of 2020, Porter faced off with Chris Daukaus and he really struggled. Porter was knocked down twice in that fight and also outstruck 37-17. Late in the first round the fight was finished by knockout with a knee and now Porter will look to rebound from that. Porter is averaging 6.82 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 7.06 significant strikes per minute. Porter will at times look to get the fight to the floor so don’t be shocked if that’s part of the gameplan in this one.
Parisian sure looked impressive in his first fight in the UFC and there is no reason to believe he won’t get the job done in this one. Parisian has the power and he is going to finish this fight by knockout. Back Parisian to win this fight by knockout.
