Adrian Yanez and Victor Rodriguez face off in a bantamweight bout in the prelim card of UFC Vegas 12 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Adrian Yanez comes into this fight with an 11-3 record overall and since coming in the UFC he has won his only fight. Yanez’s only fight in the UFC came in Dana White’s Contender Series in August of 2020 and he was competitive in that one. In that fight, it only took 39 seconds before he finished the fight by knockout. Yanez is averaging 10.77 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.62 significant strikes per minute. Yanez has a lot of power in his hands but he is also a well-rounded fighter. Yanez has won six of his fights by strikeout, two submissions, and three decisions. As of late though his main way to victory has been by knockout.
On the other side of this matchup is Victor Rodriguez who will be making his UFC debut when he steps into the octagon in this fight. Rodriguez is a fighter out of Alaska and he is a big underdog in this fight. Rodriguez comes into this fight with a 7-2 record overall and coming into this fight he has won four fights in a row. Rodriguez’s last fight came against Jared Mazurek and in that fight he was able to win by hammerfists during the middle of round two. Each of his last fight wins have been wins by knockouts and there is no doubt he is going to come out firing early in this one in hopes of pulling off the big upset.
This feels like a situation where they just pulled someone in to fill the card in Rodriguez and it’s not going to go well for him. In this one look for Yanez to come out firing and Rodriguez is going to have no answer. Back Yanez to win this fight by knockout in the first round.
