Marc Diakiese and Rafael Fiziev face off in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night which will take place at UFC’s Fight Island in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates. Like the last few events, there will be no fans in attendance for this event. Both of these fighters are currently unranked.
Marc “Bonecrusher” Diakiese comes into this fight with a 14-3 record overall and since coming into the UFC he has won five of his eight fights. Coming into this fight, Diakiese has won two fights in a row including his last fight in September of 2019. Diakiese’s last fight came against Lando Vannata and he had four takedowns and outstruck him 40-25. The “Bonecrusher” was able to come away with a unanimous decision.
Diakiese is averaging 2.86 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 2.41 significant strikes per minute. Diakiese is averaging 2.50 successful takedowns every 15 minutes. Diakiese is also stopping 64 percent of his opponents' takedowns.
Rafael “Ataman” Fiziev comes into this fight with a 7-1 record but since coming into the UFC he has a 1-1 record. In April of 2019, Fiziev started his UFC career against Magomed Mustafaev, and in that fight it didn’t take long for Fiziev to be knocked out. Fizlev was outstruck in that fight 11-1 and 1:26 into the fight he was knocked out by a spinning back kick.
In the second fight, Fiziev picked up his first win in the UFC over Alex White. In that fight, Fiziev outstruck White 66-55, had a takedown, and that was enough to come away with a unanimous decision. Fiziev is averaging 4.08 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.96 significant strikes per minute. He also has had one takedown in the UFC. and that was his only attempt.
Fiziev has proven he can be worn down early, and that will be the case again in this one. Look for Diakiese to throw some power punches early, and get an early takedown or two. Back Diakiese to get the job done with ease. If you want extra value, take Diakiese to win this game by finish.
