Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

The Minnesota Twins are 52-59 this season after they lost two out of three against Cleveland by scores of 2-3, 4-5, and 5-4. The projected starting pitcher for Minnesota is Simeon Woods Richardson, who is 5-4 with a 4.24 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP over 80.2 innings pitched this season.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers are 65-48 this year after they lost two out of three against Philadelphia by scores of 4-5, 7-5, and 0-2. In their game three loss, Detroit fell behind in the second inning and was never able to score in the shutout loss. The Tigers recorded five hits in the game and they were led by Jones and Torkelson, who both had two hits in the loss. Detroit started Morton, who allowed four hits and one earned run over 6.0 innings for the loss, while Holton allowed one earned run in relief.

Prior to that series, the Tigers swept the Diamondbacks in three games, but lost three out of four against the Blue Jays before that. Twins vs Tigers Prediction

The Tigers are coming off of a series loss in Philadelphia, but they were very competitive in all three games and the starting pitching was very good. Detroit is 36-21 at home this year, while Minnesota is 22-35 on the road. Minnesota has lost four of their last five games and they were dismantled at the trade deadline. The Twins are starting Woods Richardson, who has allowed six earned runs over his last 7.2 innings. The Tigers are starting Mize, who has allowed five earned runs and 13 hits over his last two starts, which was only 5.2 innings. I do expect Mize to bounce back in this outing against a weak Minnesota lineup, so I will take Detroit by at least two runs.

David Racey's Pick: Tigers -1.5
