In this article we will formulate a Twins vs Blue Jays prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, August 26th at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

The Minnesota Twins are 59-72 this year after they lost game one by a score of 10-4 on Monday night. Minnesota cut the deficit to 6-4 in the sixth inning, but couldn’t score in the last three innings in the loss. The Twins recorded five hits in the game and they were led by Wallner, who went 2-4 with two home runs and three RBIs in the loss. Minnesota started Ryan, who allowed seven hits and six earned runs over 5.0 innings for the loss, while Kriske allowed four earned runs in relief.

Prior to this series, the Twins lost two out of three against the White Sox and all three against the Athletics. Minnesota has lost nine of their last eleven games and they are fourth in the AL Central standings. The Minnesota pitching staff has a 4.39 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and a .255 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 541 runs with a .237 batting average and a .309 on base percentage this season. Byron Buxton has led Minnesota with 25 home runs and 62 RBIs, while Trevor Larnach has added 16 home runs and 51 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Minnesota is Bailey Ober, who is 4-7 with a 5.05 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP over 114.0 innings pitched this year.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays are 77-55 this season after they won game one in blowout fashion on Monday night. Toronto jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning and they scored the last four runs to pull away in the victory. The Blue Jays recorded 10 hits in the game and they were led by Kirk, Lukes, and Guerrero Jr, who all had two RBIs in the win. Toronto started Scherzer, who allowed four hits and four earned runs over 6.0 innings for the win, while Bruihl and Nance combined for 3.0 scoreless innings in relief.

Prior to this series, the Blue Jays won two out of three against the Marlins, but did lose two out of three against the Pirates before that. Toronto has won three of their last four games and they are currently first in the AL East standings. The Toronto pitching staff has a 4.19 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and a .238 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 650 runs with a .267 batting average and a .337 on base percentage this season. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has led Toronto with 21 home runs and 71 RBIs, while George Springer has added 22 home runs and 65 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Toronto is Chris Bassitt, who is 11-7 with a 4.18 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 144.1 innings pitched this season.

Twins vs Blue Jays Prediction

Toronto picked up another nice victory on Monday night and they are leading the AL East by five games over Boston going into Tuesday’s game. The Jays are 43-21 at home this year, while the Twins are 26-41 on the road. Minnesota has been one of the worst teams in the MLB over the last few weeks and they are starting Ober, who has allowed 2, 3, and 1 earned run in his last three outings. Toronto is starting Bassitt, who has allowed three earned runs or fewer in four straight starts. I don’t really trust Ober on the mound and with Minnesota struggling with their pitching staff, I will go with the Jays by at least two.

David Racey's Pick: Blue Jays -1.5
