However, these teams just played 18 innings and have a quick turnaround. Last night’s game featured a combined 19 pitchers. These guys are gassed and who knows what to expect once it gets to the bullpen. Dave Roberts was talking about using position player pitchers or bringing in Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who just pitched 9 innings in game 2. On paper, this screams Dodgers, but this has a chance to get funky in the later innings. There’s a serious carry-over from game 3.
Also, let’s not overlook Shane Bieber, as this is a guy who won a CY Young, Triple Crown, gold glove, and is a two-time all-star.
