Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

This past week the Blue Jays took on the Philadelphia Phillies. Toronto lost both those games 10-9 and 4-2. After another loss to the Braves 3-1 on Friday, in game two the Jays finally got a victory 9-5. Starting pitcher Jose Berrios lasted 6.0 frames with one earned run.

In the starter slot for the finale the Blue Jays will send out Yariel Rodriguez. This year in the first 17 starts of his career Rodriguez is 1-6 with a 4.61 ERA.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

Over on the Braves’ side, they played the Colorado Rockies in their last set. Atlanta managed to win two of those three games. In Saturday’s matchup the Braves coughed up a whopping 17 hits and committed two errors in the loss.

Chris Sale will take the start for the Braves on Sunday. So far Sale is 16-3 with a 2.46 ERA in 26 starts. Sale is 136-83 with a 3.05 ERA in 369 games (289 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

I’ll stay with the Braves, but the line’s too thick to mess with in reality. Sale is doing well over his last three starts, posting a 2-0 record. In that time Sale has just three earned runs in 20.0 total innings. As for Rodriguez, he’s given up 11 earned runs in his last 12.1 innings of work, going 0-1 in his last trio.

On Saturday the Braves didn’t play very well at all, giving up three runs in both the fourth and ninth innings. There were a few bright spots offensively but not enough to dig out of the hole. Sale really needs a lengthy outing here, as Atlanta used six pitchers in their game two losing effort. I’m staying away, but you wouldn’t be crazy to try the Jays here either.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Atlanta Braves -278
