Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers are 15-16 this year after they lost the first two games in this series by scores of 2-5 and 3-4. In game two, Detroit took a 3-2 lead in the third inning, but they allowed a two run home run in the ninth for the loss. The Tigers recorded five hits in the game and they were led by McGonigle and Greene, who both had one RBI. Skubal allowed five hits and two earned runs over 7.0 innings, while Jansen blew the save and picked up the loss. Prior to this series, Detroit lost two out of three against the Reds, but did win two out of three against the Brewers before that.

This season, Detroit has a 4.02 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP and a .240 opponent batting average, while they have scored 137 runs with a .248 batting average and a .329 on base percentage. Dillon Dingler has led the Tigers with five home runs and 19 RBIs, while Riley Greene has added four home runs and 18 RBIs. The projected starting pitcher for Detroit is Framber Valdez, who is 2-1 with a 3.41 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP over 34.1 innings pitched this year.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Atlanta Braves are 22-9 this season after they won game one by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday night. Atlanta led 2-0 after the first inning, but they were scoreless until they hit the home run in the ninth for the win. The Braves recorded six hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Albies and Olson, who both had two RBIs. Ritchie allowed five hits and two earned runs over 5.1 innings, while Lopez picked up the win in relief. Prior to this series, Atlanta won two out of three against the Phillies and three out of four against the Nationals.

This season, Atlanta has a 3.05 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP and a .209 opponent batting average, while they have scored 175 runs with a .273 batting average and a .338 on base percentage. Matt Olson has led the Braves with nine home runs and 28 RBIs, while Drake Baldwin has added seven home runs and 25 RBIs. The projected starting pitcher for Atlanta is Bryce Elder, who is 3-1 with a 1.95 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP over 37.0 innings pitched this season.

Tigers vs Braves Prediction

Detroit looked like they were going to even this series at one on Wednesday night, but their bullpen fell apart and they lost another road game. The Tigers are 5-14 on the road this year, while the Braves are 12-5 at home. Atlanta has won three in a row and they have allowed three runs or fewer in four of their last five. This is a great pitching matchup between Valdez and Elder, and I think runs are going to be at a premium, so I like the under here.

David Racey's Pick: Under 8.5
