In this article we will formulate a Texas Rangers vs Chicago White Sox prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, August 27th at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. To formulate this prediction for game one in the series, we will examine:

Texas Rangers Betting Preview

The Texas Rangers are 60-71 this year and they have split their last four games. Texas is coming off of a series loss against Cleveland, where they lost two out of three games. Prior to that series, the Rangers won two out of three against the Pirates, lost three out of four against the Twins, and lost two out of three against the Red Sox. Texas is 4-6 in their last 10 games and they are third in the AL West.

The Texas pitching staff has a 4.31 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, and a .240 opponent batting average. The Rangers offense has scored 548 runs with a .237 batting average and a .305 on base percentage. Corey Seager is batting .270 with 29 home runs and 71 RBI’s for the Rangers this season.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

The Chicago White Sox are 31-101 this season and they have lost four games in a row. Chicago is coming off of a series loss against Detroit, where they lost all four games by at least three runs. Prior to that series, the White Sox lost two out of three against the Giants, lost two out of three against the Astros, and lost two out of three against the Yankees. Chicago is just 1-8 in their last nine games and they are last in the AL Central.

The Chicago pitching staff has a 4.91 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP, and a .256 opponent batting average. The White Sox offense has scored 411 runs with a .221 batting average and a .278 on base percentage. Andrew Vaughn is batting .246 with 15 home runs and 59 RBI’s for the White Sox this season.

Starting Pitchers

The projected starting pitcher for Texas is Andrew Heaney, who is 4-13 with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP over 129.1 innings pitched this year. Heaney has allowed at least three earned runs in three of his last five starts. The projected starting pitcher for Chicago is Garrett Crochet, who is 6-9 with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP over 128.2 innings pitched this season. Crochet has allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his last four starts, but has not pitched more than four innings in any of those outings.

Texas Rangers vs Chicago White Sox Prediction

Chicago comes into this matchup after a very rough series with the Tigers and they continue to be the worst team in the MLB. The White Sox are just 18-48 at home this year, while the Rangers are 26-40 on the road. Texas has been a huge disappointment this season and they will start Andrew Heaney, who hasn’t been great, but should be fine against this Chicago lineup. The White Sox are starting their ace, Garrett Crochet, but he is on an innings limit, which brings that awful bullpen into play much earlier than normal. I don’t like how the Rangers have played, especially on the road, but I can’t back the White Sox. Take Texas to win.
