Texas Rangers Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Rangers took on the New York Yankees. Texas split the Saturday doubleheader 8-0 and 9-4. In the rubber match the Rangers nearly came back from a 5-0 deficit but fell short 8-7 in the end.

Starter for Monday’s game will be Texas’ Tyler Mahle. In his lone start this year Mahle is 0-1 with 5.0 innings and two Ks. In his career Mahle is 33-42 with a 4.28 ERA in 124 games (123 starts).

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Over on the Boston side, they played the Houston Astros in their weekend series. The Sox lost the first two games 8-4 and 5-4, then on Sunday Boston fell in a blowout 10-2. The two RBI came from Wilyer Abreu and Masataka Yoshida.

As starter for Monday the Red Sox are going with Brayan Bello. In 2024 Bello is 10-5 with a 5.16 ERA in 21 starts. Bello is 24-24 with a 4.64 career ERA in 62 games (60 starts).

Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers Prediction

I’ll lean toward Texas but I could probably go either way. Mahle didn’t pitch too badly in his debut on August 6 versus the Astros, going 5.0 innings with one earned on five hits and a walk in a tough loss. As for Bello, he’s been fairly uneven over his last three with eight earned runs in 16.0 innings.

On Sunday the Rangers started pretty slow at the plate but eventually finished with 12 team hits. Texas also gave up 12 hits on the other side though, with all five pitchers posting at least one (four of the five had at least two). I’ll probably stay away from this one.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Texas Rangers -105
