The Texas Rangers and Athletics meet Thursday in MLB action at Sutter Health Park. Here’s a Texas Rangers vs Athletics Prediction. This article will include a Texas Rangers vs Athletics Pick.

Texas Rangers Betting Preview

The Texas Rangers are 14-10 on the year and play the Giants, Mariners, and Red Sox next. The Texas Rangers are batting .222 on the season, have a .278 OBP, and a .378 slugging percentage. The Texas Rangers’ pitching staff has a 3.40 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Corey Seager leads the Texas Rangers with 22 hits and 6 RBI, while Josh Smith and Adolis Garcia have combined for 36 hits and 15 RBI.

Jacob deGrom gets the ball for the Texas Rangers, and he is 0-1 with a 3.32 ERA and 20 strikeouts this season. deGrom is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA and 16 strikeouts in his career against the Athletics.

Athletics Betting Preview

The Athletics are 11-13 on the year and play the White Sox, Marlins, and Mariners next. The Athletics are batting .252 on the season, have a .313 OBP, and a .435 slugging percentage. The Athletics’ pitching staff has a 4.52 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. Jacob Wilson leads the Athletics with 30 hits and 11 RBI, while Tyler Soderstrom and Lawrence Butler have combined for 51 hits and 26 RBI.

J.T. Ginn gets the ball for the Athletics, and he is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA and 13 strikeouts this season. This will be Ginn’s second career game against the Texas Rangers.

Texas Rangers vs Athletics Prediction

The Rangers are going to be favored obviously, because deGrom is on the mound. deGrom has been solid through 21.2 innings, allowing 16 hits and eight runs, and he’s coming off a brilliant showing against the Dodgers. deGrom is still working his way back and has walked five in his last 11 innings. However, the Rangers aren’t a team I’m excited to back with big juice when they’ve scored three or fewer runs in seven of their last 11 games. Also, Ginn has held his own through 10 innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out 13. Small sample size, but Ginn has shown promise through eight career MLB starts. I’ll take a shot with the Athletics and the plus money.

Randy Chambers's Pick: Athletics +130
