The Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees will meet Wednesday night in an American League playoff matchup at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays enter Wednesday night’s contest with a 98-64 overall record (1st in the American League East) and a solid 43-38 mark on the road. The Rays offense has been productive this season. Tampa Bay has compiled 736 runs scored (12th in MLB), 230 doubles, 169 home runs and a .258 team batting average which ranks first in Major League Baseball.

The Rays arrive at this playoff contest in good form, winning the team’s last two games played this season, including a 1-0 shutout victory over the Yankees three days ago.

The Rays will turn to right hander Nick Martinez in this game. In 31 starts made in 2026, Martinez has compiled a 15-6 win-loss record, a 3.10 ERA (14th in MLB), a 1.09 WHIP (12th in MLB) and 109 strikeouts in 180 innings pitched. Nick Martinez pitched relatively well recently, allowing two earned runs or less in three of his last four starts made this season.

Shifting our focus to the Tampa Bay offense, the Rays lineup features Junior Caminero and Chandler Simpson. Junior Caminero has compiled 42 home runs, 101 RBIs (8th in MLB) and an .885 OPS. Chandler Simpson has amassed a .306 batting average (4th in MLB), 46 stolen bases and a .689 OPS.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

The New York Yankees enter Wednesday night’s contest with a 93-68 overall record (2nd in the American League East) and a rather impressive 46-34 home record. The Yankees arrive at this contest in below average form, losing the team’s last two games, including a 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week.

The Yankees will start left hander Max Fried in this contest. In 20 starts made this season, Fried has compiled a 5-5 win-loss record, a 2.80 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP and 104 strikeouts in 112.2 innings pitched. Max Fried was elite in his most recent outing, allowing one earned run while scattering three hits and one walk across six innings pitched in the Yankees dominant 9-2 win over the Boston Red Sox last month.

The Yankees lineup features Ben Rice and Cody Bellinger. Rice has amassed 41 home runs (6th in MLB), 97 RBIs and an .897 OPS this season. Bellinger enters this contest with a team leading .264 batting average, 73 RBIs and a .768 OPS.
