The Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles will meet on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three‑game American League East series at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays enter Sunday’s contest with a 76–53 overall record (1st in the American League East) and a 33–30 mark on the road. The Rays offense has been competitive this season. Tampa Bay has compiled 583 runs scored (13th in MLB), 181 doubles, 135 home runs and a .261 team batting average which ranks a rather impressive first in Major League Baseball.

The Rays arrive at today’s game in below average form. Tampa Bay has lost seven of the team’s last nine games played this season, including a 10–5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week.

Tampa Bay will turn to right hander Nick Martinez in this game. In 24 starts made in 2026, Martinez has compiled a 12–4 win‑loss record (11th in MLB), a 3.05 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP (20th in MLB) and 83 strikeouts in 141.2 innings pitched. Nick Martinez has struggled recently, allowing four or more earned runs in three of his last four starts made in 2026. Martinez will look to bounce back from his recent poor performances in tomorrow afternoon’s matchup with the Baltimore Orioles.

Shifting our focus to the Tampa Bay offense, the Rays lineup features Junior Caminero and Yandy Diaz. Junior Caminero has amassed a .276 batting average, 35 home runs (4th in MLB), 81 RBIs, 66 walks and an .899 OPS which ranks 16th in Major League Baseball. Yandy Diaz has compiled a .305 batting average (7th in MLB), 19 home runs, 72 RBIs and an .844 OPS.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Baltimore Orioles enter Sunday afternoon’s matchup with a 63–67 overall record (5th in the American League East) and a 34–33 mark at home. Baltimore arrives at this contest on the heels of a two-game winning streak, including a 5–3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays two days ago.

The Orioles will start right hander Shane Baz in tomorrow’s game. In 25 starts made in 2026, Baz has compiled a 4-13 record, a 4.02 ERA and 132 strikeouts in 145.2 innings pitched. Baz arrives at this contest in decent form, allowing three earned runs fewer in five of his last six starts made this season.

The Orioles lineup features Pete Alonso and Gunnar Henderson. Pete Alonso has tallied 30 home runs, 85 RBIs (6th in MLB) and an .865 OPS. Gunnar Henderson has amassed 20 home runs, 51 RBIs, 23 doubles and a .705 OPS.

Why the Tampa Bay Rays will win.

• Offensive firepower. Junior Caminero and Yandy Diaz have been key contributors for the Tampa Bay Rays lineup.

• Starting pitching. In 24 starts made in 2026, Nick Martinez has compiled a 12–4 win‑loss record, a 3.05 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP and 83 strikeouts.

• Motivation. The Tampa Bay Rays have lost seven of the team’s last nine games.

Why the Baltimore Orioles will win.

• Home field edge. The Baltimore Orioles have played competitive baseball (34–33) at Camden Yards this season.

• Offensive balance. Pete Alonso and Gunnar Henderson provide a strong core to the Orioles lineup.

• Current form. The Baltimore Orioles arrive at this contest on the heels of a two-game winning streak.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction

In my opinion, this matchup favors the Baltimore Orioles staying within the number (1.5) with the upside of winning the contest outright. Why? The Orioles arrive at this contest in good overall form, winning two consecutive games. Additionally, Tampa Bay starting pitcher Nick Martinez has struggled recently, allowing four or more earned runs in three of his last four starts made in 2026. With that said, the Orioles should find offensive success in this one. I am backing the Baltimore Orioles plus the 1.5 runs in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Baltimore Orioles +1.5
