As starter for Friday’s game the Cardinals are going with David Pallante. So far Pallante is 5-6 with a 4.07 ERA in 22 games (13 starts). Pallante is 15-12 with a 3.87 career ERA in 131 games (23 starts).

Over on the Twins’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the San Diego Padres. Minnesota lost the first two games of that set 5-3 and 7-5. On Wednesday the Twins bagged an 11-4 win to stop the sweep. Simeon Woods Richardson finished with 5.0 innings and one earned run in the start.

In the starter slot for Friday’s game the Twins will send out David Festa. This year Festa is 2-2 with a 4.96 ERA in the first seven games (six starts) of his career.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll go with the Twins, but it should be a fun starter matchup. Festa has done well over his last three outings, notching a combined three earned in 13.1 innings. As for Pallante, he’s got three earned in 12.2 innings over his last two starts, going 1-0 in that pair.

Minnesota really needs to limit the damage on the scoreboard here, though. In each of the last four games, the Twins have given up four or more runs—and a combined total of 22 across that quartet. It’ll be an interesting weekend series.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Minnesota Twins -133
