The Seattle Mariners and the San Francisco Giants meet Friday in MLB action from Oracle Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Seattle Mariners vs. San Francisco Giants prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Seattle Mariners will start Luis Castillo here and Castillo hasn’t made a major league appearance since 2022. This will be Castillo’s first career start as well. Justin Verlander will get the nod for the Giants here and is 0-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 5 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Mariners, Verlander is 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA and 43 strikeouts.

Seattle Mariners Recap

The Seattle Mariners come into this series looking to build some momentum after salvaging a win from their series against the Tigers with a 3-2 win in Wednesday’s finale to sit at 3-4 on the year. After this series, the Mariners will return home for a series with the Houston Astros.

Mariners Avoid Sweep Against Detroit

Victor Robles and Jorge Polanco share Seattle’s team lead with 6 hits, with Robles logging 3 doubles and 3 RBIs while Polanco has a home run and 4 RBIs. Randy Arozarena also has 4 hits with a pair of doubles and a pair of solo home runs while Julio Rodriguez has 4 hits with a triple and a home run as well this season.

Seattle Mariners vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction

I’m on the San Francisco Giants here. I get the allure of backing a team like Seattle in certain spots, but right now for me, the Mariners are a hard team to get behind because of an offense that stalls out far too often for my liking, which was a problem from last year that needed to be addressed, and for Seattle, it wasn’t. The pitching is fine, although it’s weird they have two Luis Castillos on the roster, but at a certain point, last I checked, the rules of baseball are that you have to score more runs than the other team and the pitcher can only do so much. Justin Verlander’s the better arm here and the Giants have gotten off to quite the start at the dish as well this season. I’ll roll with San Francisco in this one.
