Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

The Mariners played the Texas Rangers in their weekend series. Seattle managed wins in all three installments of that set 3-2, 7-5 and 5-0 for a sweep. After an 8-5 win over Cleveland on Tuesday, in game two the Mariners were shut out 8-0. Bryan Woo gave up three earned on four hits and a walk in 4.0 frames during the start.

In the starter slot for the Mariners on Thursday it’ll be Luis Castillo. This year Castillo is 6-7 with a 3.32 ERA and 92 Ks in 89.1 innings over 15 starts. Castillo is 68-71 with a 3.52 ERA in 196 starts over his career. The Mariners will face the Marlins and Rays following this series.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

Over on the Guardians’ side, they played the Toronto Blue Jays in their weekend series. Cleveland won 3-1 Friday but lost the other two games 5-0 and 7-6. In Wednesday’s matchup the Guardians out-hit the Mariners 9-3. Starter Tanner Bibee finished with 6.0 clean frames, three hits, one walk and 12 Ks.

It’ll be Logan Allen in the starting pitcher role for the Guardians on Thursday. So far Allen has a 7-3 record and a 5.30 ERA over 14 starts with 57 Ks in 69.2 innings. Allen is 14-11 with a 4.34 ERA in 38 career starts. The Guardians will take on the Blue Jays and Orioles after this series.

Seattle Mariners vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’ll stick with the Guardians. Allen had a rough start at Coors Field to finish off May, giving up seven earned in 1.2 innings. Since then Allen is 1-0 with three earned in 11.0 innings over two starts, though. As for Castillo, he’s 2-1 over his last three starts with seven earned in 18.0 total innings (five in one start).

On Wednesday the Guardians were up 3-0 after two innings and cruised to the win on a big offensive effort. Josh Naylor contributed four RBI and two homers by himself. Cleveland probably won’t plate as many this time but they should be in great shape overall for another win.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Cleveland Guardians -101
