The San Francisco Giants and the Cleveland Guardians will meet on Tuesday night in the opening game of a three-game interleague series at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The San Francisco Giants enter Tuesday’s contest with a 51–73 overall record (4th in the National League West) and an abysmal 22–40 mark on the road. The Giants offense has been subpar this season. San Francisco has compiled 507 runs scored (24th in MLB), 208 doubles, a .249 team batting average and 137 homes runs which ranks 20th in Major League Baseball.

The Giants arrive at tomorrow’s game in below average form. San Francisco has lost six of the team’s last nine games played this season, including a 5–2 loss to the Colorado Rockies last week.

San Francisco will turn to left hander Carsen Whisenhunt in this game. In six starts made this season, Whisenhunt has compiled a 3-3 win-loss record, a 6.11 ERA, a 1.71 WHIP and 22 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched. Whisenhunt arrives at this contest in below average form, allowing four or more earned runs in three of his last four starts made in 2026. Whisenhunt will look to rebound from his recent poor performances in tomorrow’s matchup with the Cleveland Guardians.

Shifting our focus to the San Francisco offense, the Giants lineup features talented first baseman Rafael Devers. Devers enters this contest with a .246 team batting average, 25 home runs (18th in MLB), 30 doubles, 69 RBIs and a .794 OPS.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

The Cleveland Guardians enter Tuesday night’s matchup with a 60–65 overall record (1st in the American League Central) and a 29–33 mark at home. Cleveland has played competitive baseball recently, winning six of the team’s last nine games, including a 3–0 shutout victory over the Detroit Tigers four days ago.

The Guardians will start left hander Foster Griffin in tomorrow’s game. In 24 starts made in 2026, Griffin has amassed a rather impressive 13-4 record, a 3.25 ERA (17th in MLB), 125 strikeouts and a 1.11 WHIP which ranks 18th in Major League Baseball. Griffin has had his issues on the mound recently, allowing five earned runs or more in two of his last three starts made this season.

The Cleveland Guardians offense features shortstop Brayan Rocchio and veteran third baseman Jose Ramirez. Rocchio enters this contest with a .253 batting average, 10 home runs, 51 RBIs and a .693 OPS. Jose Ramirez has amassed 10 home runs, 19 doubles, 38 RBIs, 54 walks and a .723 OPS.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win.

• Offensive firepower. First baseman Rafael Devers has been a key contributor for the San Francisco Giants lineup in 2026.

• Starting pitching. In six starts made this season, Carsen Whisenhunt has compiled a 3-3 win-loss record, a 6.11 ERA, a 1.71 WHIP and 22 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.

• Enhanced motivation. The San Francisco Giants have lost six of the team’s last nine games.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win.

• Starting pitching. In 24 starts made in 2026, Foster Griffin has compiled a 13-4 record, a 3.25 ERA (17th in MLB), 125 strikeouts and a 1.11 WHIP which ranks 18th in Major League Baseball.

• Offensive balance. Jose Ramirez and Brayan Rocchio lead the Cleveland Guardians lineup.

• Current form. The Cleveland Guardians have won six of the team’s last nine games.

San Francisco Giants vs. Cleveland Guardians Prediction

In my view, the way to go in this matchup is the total rather a side. Why? Cleveland starting pitcher Foster Griffin has had his issues on the mound recently, allowing five earned runs or more in two of his last three starts made this season. Similarly, San Francisco hurler Carsen Whisenhunt arrives at this contest in below average form, allowing four or more earned runs in three of his last four starts made in 2026. I see both teams finding offensive success in this one. For the reason just noted, I am backing over 7.5 runs in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Over 7.5
