In this article we will formulate a Royals vs Red Sox prediction for this MLB game on Wednesday, August 6th at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

The Kansas City Royals are 56-58 this year after they lost the first two games in this series by scores of 5-8 and 2-6. In their game two loss, Kansas City cut the deficit to 3-2 in the seventh inning, but couldn’t get any closer in the loss. The Royals recorded five hits in the game and they were led by Garcia and Grichuk, who both had one RBI in the loss. KC started Bergert, who allowed two hits and two earned runs over 5.2 innings for the loss, while Schreiber allowed three earned runs in relief.

Prior to this series, the Royals won two out of three against the Blue Jays and two out of three against the Braves. Kansas City has lost three of their last four games and they are currently third in the AL Central standings. The Kansas City pitching staff has a 3.60 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and a .237 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 418 runs with a .243 batting average and a .300 on base percentage this season. Vinnie Pasquantino has led KC with 19 home runs and 67 RBIs, while Salvador Perez has added 20 home runs and 66 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Kansas City is Michael Wacha, who is 5-9 with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP over 125.1 innings pitched this year.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

The Boston Red Sox are 64-51 this season after they won game two in this series on Tuesday night. Boston led for most of the game, but they needed a big seventh inning to put the game away. The Red Sox recorded nine hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Story, who went 2-4 with three RBIs in the win. Boston started Crochet, who allowed four hits and two earned runs over 7.0 innings for the win, while Weissert and Hicks closed out the victory.

Prior to this series, the Red Sox won all three against the Astros and two out of three against the Twins. Boston has won seven games in a row and they are currently second in the AL East standings. The Boston pitching staff has a 3.69 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and a .245 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 574 runs with a .254 batting average and a .324 on base percentage this season. Wilyer Abreu has led Boston with 20 home runs and 62 RBIs, while Trevor Story has added 18 home runs and 72 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Boston is Dustin May, who is 6-7 with a 4.85 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP over 104.0 innings pitched this season.

Royals vs Red Sox Prediction

Boston continues to be one of the hottest teams in the MLB and they have scored at least six runs in four straight games. The Red Sox are 39-21 at home this year, while the Royals are 28-30 on the road. Kansas City has allowed 18 runs in their last three games, but they are starting Wacha, who has allowed one earned run in each of his last four starts. The Red Sox are going with May, who has allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last five outings, but is making his first start since being traded from the Dodgers. I really like how Wacha is pitching right now and I think he will give the Royals a chance to win. Take KC here.
