In this article we will formulate a Royals vs Blue Jays prediction for this MLB game on Sunday, August 3rd at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

The Kansas City Royals are 55-56 this year after they split the first two games in this series by scores of 9-3 and 2-4. In their game two loss, Kansas City cut the deficit to 3-2 in the seventh inning, but couldn’t find the tying run in the defeat. The Royals recorded six hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Perez and Isbel, who both had one RBI in the loss. KC started Cameron, who allowed six hits and four earned runs over 6.1 innings for the loss, while Clarke threw 1.2 scoreless innings in relief.

Prior to this series, the Royals won two out of three against the Braves and two out of three against the Guardians. Kansas City has won three of their last four games and they are currently third in the AL Central standings. The Kansas City pitching staff has a 3.54 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and a .236 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 404 runs with a .244 batting average and a .300 on base percentage this season. Vinnie Pasquantino has led KC with 18 home runs and 65 RBIs, while Salvador Perez has added 20 home runs and 66 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Kansas City is Seth Lugo, who is 8-5 with a 3.03 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP over 118.2 innings pitched this year.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays are 65-47 this season after they won game two by a score of 4-2 on Saturday afternoon. Toronto nearly blew a 3-0 lead in the third inning, but they added an insurance run in the seventh to seal the victory. The Blue Jays recorded eight hits in the game and they were led by Schneider, who went 1-3 with two RBIs in the win. Toronto started Scherzer, who allowed five hits and one earned run over 6.0 innings for the win, while Hoffman picked up the save.

Prior to this series, the Blue Jays lost three out of four against the Orioles, but did win three out of four against the Tigers before that. Toronto has won two of their last three games and they continue to lead the AL East standings. The Toronto pitching staff has a 4.29 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and a .241 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 527 runs with a .264 batting average and a .334 on base percentage this season. George Springer (IL) has led Toronto with 18 home runs and 57 RBIs, while Bo Bichette has added 13 home runs and 68 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Toronto is Chris Bassitt, who is 11-5 with a 4.24 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 123.0 innings pitched this season.

Royals vs Blue Jays Prediction

Toronto was able to pick up a badly needed win on Saturday afternoon to tie the series at two, as they try to hold off Boston and New York in the East. The Blue Jays are 38-18 at home this year, while the Royals are 27-28 on the road. Kansas City has shown improvement recently, but they are still one of the worst offensive teams this season. The Royals are starting Lugo, who has allowed three earned runs or fewer in four of his last five. The Jays are going with Bassitt, who has allowed nine earned runs and 10 hits over his last 9.2 innings. I think Lugo is the better pitcher in this matchup and the KC offense is turning a corner, so give me the Royals here.
