In this article we will formulate a Reds vs Orioles prediction for this MLB game on Friday, April 18th at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

The Cincinnati Reds are 9-10 this year and they have won six of their last nine games. Cincinnati is coming off of a series loss to Seattle, where they lost two out of three by scores of 8-4, 3-5, and 7-11. In that game three loss, the Reds took a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth, but they allowed two runs in the ninth to tie the game and another four runs in the 10th for the loss. Cincinnati recorded 10 hits and they committed four errors in the game, while they were led by Fraley, who went 3-5 with one home run and four RBIs in the loss. Cincinnati started Singer, who allowed five hits and two earned runs over 4.1 innings, while Pagan blew the save in the ninth by allowing two home runs.

Prior to that series, the Reds swept the Pirates and won two out of three against the Giants. The Cincinnati pitching staff has a 3.08 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and a .198 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 80 runs with a .213 batting average and a .289 on base percentage this season. Elly De La Cruz has led Cincinnati with three home runs and 18 RBIs, while TJ Friedl has added one home run and seven RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Cincinnati is Andrew Abbott, who is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP over 5.0 innings pitched this season.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Baltimore Orioles are 8-10 this season and they have won three of their last five games. Baltimore is coming off of a series win over Cleveland, where they won two out of three games by scores of 3-6, 9-1, and 6-2. In that game three win, the Orioles trailed 2-1 in the third inning, but they got a three-run home run in the bottom of the third to put them ahead for the win. Baltimore recorded seven hits in the game and they were led by O’Hearn, who went 2-3 with one home run and three RBIs in the game. Baltimore started Sugano, who allowed five hits and two earned runs over 7.0 innings, while Akin, Dominguez, and Bautista closed out the victory.

Prior to that series, the Orioles split a two game series with the Blue Jays and lost two out of three against the Diamondbacks. The Baltimore pitching staff has a 4.30 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and a .276 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 84 runs with a .234 batting average and a .303 on base percentage this season. Cedric Mullins has led Baltimore with four home runs and 17 RBIs, while Tyler O’Neill has added two home runs and eight RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Baltimore is Cade Povich, who is 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP over 15.0 innings pitched this year.

Reds vs Orioles Prediction

Both of these teams come into this series below .500 on the season, but the Orioles will be at home. Baltimore is 4-4 at home this year, while Cincinnati is 3-4 on the road. The Reds are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Seattle on Thursday, but they have played very well over the last two weeks. Baltimore has finally seen their offense pick up the pace and they have scored at least five runs in four of their last five games. I do think Cincinnati has the pitching advantage, but the Baltimore lineup is firing on all cylinders right now. Take the Orioles here.
