The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will meet on Sunday night in the final game of a four‑game American League East series at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

The New York Yankees enter Sunday’s contest with a 48–34 overall record (1st in the American League East) and a 26–19 mark on the road. The Yankees offense has been outstanding this season. Through 82 games played in 2026, New York has compiled 405 runs scored (5th in MLB), 127 doubles, a .241 team batting average and a massive 121 home runs which ranks first in Major League Baseball.

The Yankees arrive at tomorrow’s game in below average form. New York has lost six of the team’s last eight games played this season, including a 5–3 loss to the Detroit Tigers earlier this week.

New York will turn to left hander Carlos Rodon in this contest. In eight starts made this season, Rodon has compiled a 4-2 win‑loss record, a 3.70 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP and 46 strikeouts, while allowing 31 hits and 22 walks in 41.1 innings pitched. Rodon will look to continue his recent strong performances in tomorrow’s matchup with the Boston Red Sox.

The New York Yankees have amassed a formidable lineup this season that features second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. and first baseman Ben Rice. Chisolm Jr. enters this contest with 12 home runs, 10 doubles, 34 walks, 33 RBIs, 24 stolen bases and a .713 OPS. Ben Rice has compiled a .276 batting average, 53 RBIs, 22 home runs (4th in MLB) and a .940 OPS.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

The Boston Red Sox enter Sunday night’s matchup with a 35–46 overall record (5th in the American League East) and an abysmal 15–25 mark at home. Boston has played competitive baseball recently, winning four of the team’s last five games, including a 6–3 victory over the New York Yankees two days ago.

Boston will start right hander Sonny Gray in tomorrow’s game. In fourteen starts made this season, Gray has compiled a 9–1 record (2nd in MLB), a 2.95 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and 66 strikeouts, while allowing 71 hits and 20 walks in 76.1 innings pitched. It should also be noted that Sonny Gray has pitched exceptionally well recently, allowing one or fewer runs in seven of his last ten starts made this season.

The Boston Red Sox lineup features outfielder Wilyer Abreu and first baseman Willson Contreras. Abreu enters this contest with a .269 batting average, 10 home runs, 16 doubles, 38 RBIs and a .773 OPS. Wilson Contreras has compiled a .281 batting average, 17 home runs, 14 doubles, 31 walks, 50 RBIs and an .904 OPS.

Why the New York Yankees will win.

• Starting pitching. In eight starts made this season, Carlos Rodon has compiled a 4-2 win‑loss record, a 3.70 ERA, a 1.28 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched

• Offensive upside. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ben Rice lead the New York Yankees lineup.

• Enhanced motivation. The New York Yankees have lost six of the team’s last eight games.

Why the Boston Red Sox will win.

• Quality starting pitching. In fourteen starts made this season, Sonny Gray has compiled a 9–1 record (2nd in MLB), a 2.95 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and 66 strikeouts in 76.1 innings pitched.

• Current form. The Boston Red Sox have won four of the team’s last five games.

New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the New York Yankees staying within the number (1.5). New York starting pitcher Carlos Rodon has pitched at a high level in 2026, allowing three earned runs or less in eight consecutive starts. Boston hurler Sonny Gray has also pitched relatively well. With that said, Gray will be facing an elite New York Yankees lineup in this contest. I am backing the New York Yankees plus the 1.5 runs in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: New York Yankees +1.5
