The New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Friday in MLB action from American Family Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The New York Mets will send out Sean Manaea here and Manaea is 12-5 with a 3.29 ERA and 183 strikeouts this season. In his career, Manaea is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 20 strikeouts against the Brewers. Frankie Montas will start this one for the Brewers and is 7-11 with a 4.85 ERA and 142 strikeouts this season. This will be Montas’ second career start against the Mets.
New York Mets Recap
The New York Mets come into this one looking to keep their momentum going after a rain-shortened series with the Braves, losing the lone game that was played by a final score of 5-1. Prior to that, the Mets had won back-to-back series over the Phillies and Nationals over the last week and a half.

Milwaukee Brewers Recap
The Milwaukee Brewers come into this one looking to finish the season strong after picking up a series win over the Pittsburgh Pirates thanks to a 5-2 win in Thursday’s series finale. The win gave the Brewers a nice bounce back after falling short against the Arizona Diamondbacks last weekend.

Mets vs. Brewers Prediction
I’m on the Mets here. I just think that there’s far more at stake for the Mets who have in fairness been playing really well down the stretch. The Brewers have one eye looking ahead to the playoffs and I’ve always thought the addition of Frankie Montas didn’t make much sense from the Brewers’ perspective. Manaea’s been on a tear for the Mets and I think he keeps it going at arguably the most important point of New York’s season. Give me the Mets in this one to draw first blood.
