In this article we will formulate a Nationals vs Rockies prediction for this MLB game on Saturday, April 19th at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup. Game one in this series was postponed due to weather on Friday night.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Colorado Rockies are 3-15 this year and they have lost six games in a row. Colorado is coming off of a series loss to the Dodgers, where they lost all three games by scores of 3-5, 2-6, and 7-8. In that game three loss, the Rockies led 1-0 in the top of the first inning and battled back from down 7-1 early in the game, but they came up short in the rally effort. Colorado recorded 11 hits in the game and they were led by Toglia, who went 1-4 with one home run and four RBIs in the loss. Colorado started Marquez, who allowed six hits and seven earned runs over 0.2 innings in the loss, while Peralta allowed three hits and one earned run in 1.1 innings out of the bullpen.

Prior to that series, the Rockies lost all three against the Padres and two out of three against the Brewers. The Colorado pitching staff has a 5.29 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP and a .290 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 52 runs with a .220 batting average and a .285 on base percentage this season. Hunter Goodman has led Colorado with three home runs and seven RBIs, while Kyle Farmer has added six RBIs so far this year. The projected starting pitcher for Colorado is Chase Dollander, who is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over 10.2 innings pitched this year.

Washington Nationals Betting Preview

The Washington Nationals are 7-12 this season and they have lost five of their last six games. Washington is coming off of a series loss against the Pirates, where they lost three out of four games by scores of 3-10, 3-0, 1-6, and 0-1. In that game four loss, the Nationals allowed a run in the first inning, which was the only run in the game for the loss. Washington recorded five hits in the game and they were led by Lowe, who went 2-4 in the loss. The Nationals started Williams, who allowed three hits and one earned run over 5.0 innings in the loss, while Sims and Ferrer pitched the final three innings of the game.

Prior to that series, the Nationals lost two out of three against the Marlins, but did win two out of three against the Dodgers before that. The Washington pitching staff has a 5.05 ERA with a 1.52 WHIP and a .274 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 77 runs with a .226 batting average and a .302 on base percentage this season. James Wood has led Washington with six home runs and 13 RBIs, while Nathaniel Lowe has added three home runs and 16 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Washington is MacKenzie Gore, who is 1-2 with a 3.52 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP over 23.0 innings pitched this season.

Nationals vs Rockies Prediction

Washington was not able to take advantage against a favorable schedule over their last seven games, but they will look to get back on track against a struggling Colorado team here. The Rockies only have three wins on the season and they have lost six games in a row, but two of their three wins have come at home. Washington has lost five of their last six games and their offense has scored a total of one run in their last two games. The Nats do have a big advantage with Gore on the mound, but I am taking Colorado and the plus money, as this Washington offense is not in a good spot right now.
