Month-by-month, Seager got off to a hot start, batting .302/.362/.524 in April, before cooling in June (.188 avg), though he rebounded early in July (.375 avg). Seager is coming off back-to-back games, logging 5 total bases, and has logged 2+ bases in 7 of his last 10. He’s heating up and has a great matchup going against Angels’ starter Kochanowicz, who’s been underwhelming to say the least. After that, he’ll face a bad Angels bullpen as well. This is a great spot for Seager to continue his success.

Brent Rooker has been a consistent middle-of-the-order presence, playing in 92 games and compiling a .271 batting average, .348 on‑base percentage, and .486 slugging for an .834 OPS, placing him among the top 30–50 hitters across MLB this season. He’s contributed 19 home runs and driven in 48 runs, while scoring 55 times. Rooker has been especially effective at home, batting .289 with a .382 OBP, six homers, and 23 RBIs in just 166 home at-bats. His platoon splits indicate a strong performance against left-handed pitching, where he’s slashing .356/.431/.756 compared to .231/.293/.396 versus righties. Rooker had a great game 1 in this series, and with the way this Braves bullpen was taxed in that game, I expect him to have another solid outing in this one.

He’s been one of Boston’s most consistent batters as of late. The Rays will be sending out Taj Bradley to the mound in this one. He’s been extremely volatile, especially on the road this season. With how well Gonzalez has been seeing the ball as of late, I expect him to tee off on Taj Bradley early in this game.
