The Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays will meet Wednesday night in Game 5 of the World Series at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers enter Wednesday’s contest with a 103–59 overall record (1st in the National League Central) and a robust 55-26 mark at home. The Brewers have played exceptional baseball recently, winning seven of the team’s last eight postseason games, including a dominant 10-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays two days ago.

The Brewers will turn to right hander Jacob Misiorowski in this contest. In 30 starts made during the 2026 regular season, Misiorowski compiled a 16-5 win-loss record, a robust 1.80 ERA, a 0.80 WHIP (1st in MLB) and a massive 252 strikeouts (1st in MLB) in 174.2 innings pitched. The Milwaukee hurler has continued to pitch at a high level in October. Through three postseason starts, Misiorowski has posted a 2.70 ERA while allowing only four earned runs in 13.1 innings pitched. In his most recent outing, Misiorowksi allowed one earned run while scattering four hits and one walk in the Brewers 3-2 defeat of the Rays five days ago.

The Brewers lineup features catcher William Contreras and second baseman Brice Turang. Contreras enters this contest with a .270 batting average, 18 home runs, 27 doubles, 59 walks, 94 RBIs and a .758 OPS. Brice Turang has amassed a .268 batting average, 21 home runs, 100 RBIs (9th in MLB) and an .816 OPS.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays enter Wednesday’s contest with a 98-64 overall record (1st in the American League East) and a 43-38 mark on the road. Tampa Bay arrives at tomorrow’s contest in below average form, losing three of the team’s last four postseason games, including a 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers four days ago.

The Rays will hand the baseball to veteran right hander Nick Martinez. In 31 starts made during the 2026 regular season, Martinez compiled a 15-6 win-loss record, a 3.10 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP and 109 strikeouts in 180 innings pitched. Martinez was especially effective on the road in 2026, posting a 2.38 ERA away from home this season.

Turning our attention to the Tampa Bay offense, the Rays lineup features Junior Caminero and Chandler Simpson. Junior Caminero has compiled 42 home runs, 101 RBIs and an .885 OPS. Chandler Simpson has amassed a .306 batting average, 46 stolen bases and a .689 OPS.

Why the Tampa Bay Rays will win.

• Starting pitching. In 31 starts made during the 2026 regular season, Nick Martinez compiled a 15-6 win-loss record, a 3.10 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP and 109 strikeouts in 180 innings pitched.

• Motivation. The Tampa Bay Rays have lost three of the team’s last four postseason games.

Why the Milwaukee Brewers will win.

• Starting pitching. In 30 starts made during the 2026 regular season, Jacob Misiorowski compiled a 16-5 win-loss record, a robust 1.80 ERA, a 0.80 WHIP (1st in MLB) and a massive 252 strikeouts (1st in MLB) in 174.2 innings pitched.

• Current form. The Brewers have won seven of the team’s last eight postseason games.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the Milwaukee Brewers. Why? The starting pitching advantage is simply too significant to ignore. Jacob Misiorowski wasn’t just one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, he was arguably the best. The Brewers ace led Major League Baseball in strikeouts (252) and WHIP (0.80), while posting a remarkable 1.80 ERA across 174.2 innings pitched. I expect a low scoring game, but when comparing the starting pitchers, Milwaukee owns the clear edge in this one. With that said, I am backing the Milwaukee Brewers on the moneyline in this game.
