The Miami Marlins and the Arizona Diamondbacks will meet Wednesday night in a National League matchup at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

The Miami Marlins enter Wednesday’s contest with a 74-77 overall record (3rd in National League East) and have a 29-44 mark on the road. The Marlins arrive at tomorrow night’s game in subpar form, losing five of the team’s last seven games played this season, including a 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers last week.

The Miami Marlins will turn to right hander Ryan Gusto in this game. In 16 starts made in 2026, Gusto has compiled a 1-5 win-loss record, a 4.14 ERA, a 1.40 WHIP and 65 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched. Ryan Gusto arrives at this contest in good form, allowing two earned runs or less in six of his last seven starts made this season. Gusto will look to continue his recent run of solid pitching in tonight’s matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Miami Marlins lineup features shortstop Otto Lopez. Lopez enters this contest with a .307 batting average (6th in MLB), 10 home runs, 34 walks, 69 RBIs, 30 stolen bases and a .788 OPS.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

The Arizona Diamondbacks enter Wednesday’s matchup with a 80-71 overall record (3rd in the National League West) and a rather impressive 43-33 mark at home. The Arizona offensive has been competitive this season. The Diamondbacks have amassed 674 runs scored, 254 doubles (7th in MLB), 151 home runs and a .247 team batting average which ranks 12th in Major League Baseball.

The Diamondbacks arrive at tomorrow night’s game in below average form. Arizona has lost three of the team’s last five games.

The Diamondbacks will start right hander Merrill Kelly in this contest. In 27 starts made in 2026, Kelly has compiled a 9-13 win-loss record, a 4.97 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP and 102 strikeouts in 152.0 innings pitched. Merrill Kelly has performed at a high level recently, allowing one earned run or less in two of his last three starts made this season.

Shifting our focus to the Arizona offense, the Diamondbacks lineup features catcher Gabriel Moreno and second baseman Ketel Marte. Moreno has compiled a .301 batting average, 13 home runs, 73 RBIs, and an .846 OPS. Marte has tallied a .250 batting average, 22 home runs, 73 RBIs and a .758 OPS.

Why the Miami Marlins will win.

• Starting pitching. Ryan Gusto has compiled a 4.14 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched this season.

• Offensive potential. Otto Lopez has been a key contributor for the Miami Marlins in 2026.

• Motivation. The Miami Marlins have lost five of the team’s last seven games.

Why the Arizona Diamondbacks will win.

• Home field advantage. The Diamondbacks have amassed a 43-33 win-loss record at Chase Field.

• Offensive balance. Ketel Marte and Gabriel Moreno lead the Arizona Diamondbacks lineup.

Miami Marlins vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the Miami Marlins staying within the number (1.5) with the upside of winning the contest outright. Why? Miami starting pitcher Ryan Gusto arrives at this contest in good form, allowing two earned runs or less in six of his last seven starts made this season. Similarly, Arizona hurler Merrill Kelly has performed at a high level recently, allowing one earned run or less in two of his last three starts made in 2026. With that said, I envision a contest that is competitive in the latter innings. I am backing the Miami Marlins plus the 1.5 runs in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Miami Marlins +1.5
