Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

This week the Angels played the Kansas City Royals. After a split in the first pair, in the Wednesday rubber match LA took a shutout loss 3-0. On Thursday versus the Blue Jays, the Angels started heating up late but came up short in a 5-3 defeat. Griffin Canning did most of the pitching work with 6.0 clean frames and two hits.

In the starter slot for Friday the Angels will send out Jack Kochanowicz. In the first four starts of his career Kochanowicz is 1-3 with a 6.53 ERA.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they took on the Cincinnati Reds in their last series. Toronto also split the first two games of that set. In the Wednesday game the Jays fell 11-7. On Thursday Toronto scored all five of their runs in the second inning. Ryan Yarbrough did most of the pitching with 5.0 clean innings, three hits and four Ks.

As starting pitcher in game two the Blue Jays are sending out Chris Bassitt. So far Bassitt is 9-12 with a 4.34 ERA in 25 starts. Over 194 career games (181 starts) Bassitt is 71-54 with a 3.60 ERA.

Los Angeles Angels vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’m leaning toward the Blue Jays. Probably not touching it, though. Bassitt has one bad start in his last three, taking a loss to the A’s with seven earned in 4.0 innings. In the other two however, Bassitt is 1-1 with five earned over a combined 12.0 innings of work. As for Kochanowicz, he’s doing fine over his last pair with four earned in 13.2 innings for a 1-1 record.

On Thursday the Jays had the one big inning at the plate and did the rest of the job with a nice pitching outing. The only real hiccup was Tommy Nance’s three earned in 2.0 innings. I like Toronto to maintain some momentum here with a nice Friday performance.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -133
