The Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers square off Saturday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a LA Angels vs LA Dodgers Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Los Angeles Angels will send out Zach Plesac for the start here and Plesac is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 1 strikeout this season. This will be Plesac’s second career start against the Dodgers. The Los Angeles Angels will send out Tyler Glasnow for the start here and Glasnow is 7-5 with a 3.00 ERA and 125 strikeouts this season. In his career, Glasnow is 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA and 25 strikeouts against the Angels.

Los Angeles Angels Recap

The Los Angeles Angels come into this game looking to build on their series-opening win over the Dodgers in Friday’s matchup by a final score of 3-2. The win was what the doctor ordered for the Angels who had lost 10 straight to the Dodgers prior to the win and were looking to rebound from a series loss to the Brewers.

Angels Trying to Duplicate Friday’s Success

Going into Friday’s opener, Taylor Ward has 62 hits along with 12 doubles, 12 home runs and a team-high 37 RBIs. Mike Trout also has 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 6 stolen bases, but remains out indefinitely with injury while Zach Neto has 16 doubles, 63 strikeouts and 9 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has a team-high 65 hits and 18 stolen bases while Jo Adell has 12 home runs, 33 RBIs and 9 stolen bases as well.

Los Angeles Dodgers Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to rebound after starting the series with their loss at the hands of their crosstown rival. The loss wasn’t the greatest start to the series for the Dodgers, who were trying to build on back-to-back series wins over the Rockies and Royals over the last week.

Dodgers Still Rolling Despite Friday’s Loss

Entering Friday’s matchup, Shohei Ohtani has 94 hits including a team-high 21 home runs, 21 doubles and 53 RBIs with a .318 batting average while Mookie Betts has 86 hits with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 10 homers and 40 RBIs of his own, but will miss the next few weeks because of an injury. Teoscar Hernandez also has 18 home runs with 54 RBIs and a team-high 92 strikeouts. Betts also has 9 stolen bases while Ohtani has a team-high 16 stolen bases. Freddie Freeman also has 45 RBIs with 20 doubles and Will Smith has added 16 doubles, 11 home runs and 45 RBIs.

Why the Los Angeles Dodgers will win

LA Angels vs LA Dodgers Prediction

I’m going to take a shot on the Angels here. Are the Dodgers the better lineup? Sure, but the Angels just pulled off the upset on Friday and have played their better baseball on the road this season, and Plesac’s a bit of an unknown with only one start under his belt this season. Tyler Glasnow’s a strikeout machine, but I’m not paying this premium because of Glasnow and the Dodgers’ name brand when getting almost three times my money. Give me the Angels here.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Los Angeles Angels +280
