Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

In their weekend series the Royals took on the Colorado Rockies. Kansas City lost 4-2 and 3-1 in the first two games of that set, but then won 10-1 in the finale to stave off the sweep. On Tuesday versus the Cards, the opener for the abbreviated series was rained out.

In the starter slot for the Royals in game one on Wednesday it’ll be Alec Marsh. This year Marsh is 6-6 with a 4.57 ERA in 16 starts. For game two it’ll be Michael Wacha, who is 5-6 with a 3.74 ERA.

St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they played four games versus the Washington Nationals over the weekend. St. Louis lost 14-6 Saturday but otherwise won 7-6, 8-3 and 6-0 in the other trio.

Andre Pallante will take the mound for game one. He’s 4-3 with a 4.00 ERA so far. It’ll be Sonny Gray as starter for Wednesday’s game two. So far Gray is 9-5 with a 3.30 ERA in 16 starts.

Kansas City Royals vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

For game one I’ll go with the Cardinals. Pallante has fared pretty well over his last pair with just one earned in 12.1 innings total. As for Marsh, he’s coming off a rough start himself with five earned on six hits and three walks in 3.0 innings during a loss to the Rays.

I’ll go with the Royals in game two but I could go either way. Wacha is rolling pretty well these days with three earned over his last three starts in 16.1 combined innings. Gray needs a good start here. Over his last two outings he’s 0-1 with eight earned in 9.1 innings.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Game 1: St. Louis Cardinals -128 — Game 2: Kansas City Royals +135
