Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

This week the Royals played the Washington Nationals. KC took a sweep in that matchup 1-0, 3-0 and 7-4. On Friday versus Atlanta, Kansas City lost in a shutout 3-0.

Seth Lugo will start for the Royals on Saturday. This year Lugo is 16-9 with a 3.03 ERA in 32 starts. Over 333 career games (96 starts) Lugo is 56-40 with a 3.38 ERA.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

Over on the Braves’ side, they only managed to play one game versus the New York Mets this week, a 5-1 win. The other two will be made up Monday. On Friday the Braves posted just four team hits in the victory.

As starter Saturday Atlanta is sending out Reynaldo Lopez. So far Lopez is 8-5 with a 2.03 ERA in 24 starts.

Kansas City Royals vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

I might try KC here. Lugo has one bad start and two pretty good ones in his last three outings. In the bad one Lugo notched four earned in 4.2 innings versus the Tigers. In the two good starts Lugo posted a combined 14.0 innings and two earned runs, going 1-1 in the pair.

On Friday the Royals got a pretty nice pitching effort overall but the offense couldn’t rise to the occasion. Michael Massey had two of the team’s three hits and there were only two walks in the game. I like KC to come back better Saturday but they’ve got to get the bats going.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Kansas City Royals +110
