In this article, we will formulate a Guardians vs Tigers prediction for this MLB game on Sunday, May 25th at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are 29-22 this year after they won the first three games in this series by scores of 7-0, 3-1, and 7-5. In their game three win, Cleveland trailed 3-0 after the first inning, but they scored the next seven runs in the game for the win in extras. The Guardians recorded 11 hits in the game, and they were led by Martinez and Naylor, who both had two RBIs in the win. Cleveland started Ortiz, who allowed four hits and three earned runs over 5.0 innings, while Herrin picked up the win in relief.

Prior to this series, the Guardians split two games with the Twins and lost all three against the Reds. Cleveland has won four games in a row, and they are currently second in the AL Central standings. The Cleveland pitching staff has a 3.96 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and a .254 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 209 runs with a .234 batting average and a .307 on-base percentage this season. Kyle Manzardo has led Cleveland with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs, while Jose Ramirez has added nine home runs and 26 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Cleveland is Logan Allen, who is 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP over 44.1 innings pitched this year.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers are 33-20 this season after they lost game three in this series by a score of 7-5. Detroit scored three runs in the first inning, but they didn’t score again until the 10th, where they came up short for the loss. The Tigers recorded five hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Vierling and Torres, who both had two RBIs in the loss. Detroit started Mize, who allowed four hits and one earned run over 5.0 innings, while Kahnle blew the save and Hanifee was tagged with the loss.

Prior to this series, the Tigers won two out of three against the Cardinals and two out of three against the Blue Jays. Guardians vs Tigers Prediction

Detroit comes into this matchup trying to avoid a four-game sweep, but they need to find more offense, as they have been pretty bad at the plate in the series. The Tigers are 17-8 at home this year, while the Guardians are 15-14 on the road. Cleveland has won four games in a row, and they are just three games back in the AL Central race. The Guardians are starting Allen, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his last four starts, but only pitched three innings last time out. Detroit is going with Skubal, who has been very good this year, but has allowed eight earned runs over his last two starts. I am going to side with Detroit on the run line here, but Skubal’s last two outings are definitely a concern.

David Racey's Pick: Tigers -1.5
