In this article we will formulate a Giants vs Pirates prediction for this MLB game on Wednesday, August 6th at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The San Francisco Giants are 57-57 this year after they split the first two games in this series by scores of 4-5 and 8-1. In their game two win, San Francisco had their lead cut to 2-1, but they scored the last six runs to pull away with the easy victory. The Giants recorded 11 hits in the game and they were led by Bailey, Koss, and Adames, who all had two RBIs in the win. San Francisco started Webb, who allowed seven hits and one earned run over 6.0 innings for the win, while Gage and Beck finished the game.

Prior to this series, the Giants won two out of three against the Mets, but got swept by the Pirates before that. San Francisco has alternated wins and losses over their last six games and they are currently third in the NL West standings. The San Francisco pitching staff has a 3.67 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP, and a .242 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 477 runs with a .234 batting average and a .312 on base percentage this season. Wilmer Flores has led San Francisco with 12 home runs and 59 RBIs, while Willy Adames has added 18 home runs and 61 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for San Francisco is Robbie Ray, who is 9-5 with a 2.85 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP over 136.0 innings pitched this year.

Pittsburgh Pirates Betting Preview

The Pittsburgh Pirates are 49-65 this season after they lost game two on Tuesday night. Pittsburgh scored their lone run in the third inning, but went scoreless in the last six innings for the defeat. The Pirates recorded seven hits and they committed two errors in the game, while they were led by Reynolds, who went 2-4 with one RBI in the loss. Pittsburgh started Burrows, who allowed five hits and six earned runs over 4.2 innings for the loss, while Ashcraft allowed two earned runs in relief.

Oneil Cruz has led Pittsburgh with 18 home runs and 48 RBIs, while Bryan Reynolds has added 10 home runs and 53 RBIs this year. Giants vs Pirates Prediction

San Francisco was finally able to beat Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, but they have had a ton of trouble stringing wins together recently. The Giants are 29-31 on the road this year, while the Pirates are 32-26 at home. Pittsburgh has allowed at least five runs in four of their last five games and they are starting Heaney, who has allowed 3, 0, 7, 3, and 4 earned runs in his last five outings. The Giants are going with Ray, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. I can’t back Heaney with how he is pitching, so give me the Giants by at least two here.

David Racey's Pick: Giants -1.5
