In this article we will formulate a Diamondbacks vs Tigers prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, July 29th at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

The Arizona Diamondbacks are 51-56 this year after they lost game one by a score of 5-1 on Monday. Arizona was held scoreless for the first seven innings, but they scored once in the eighth to avoid the shutout. The Diamondbacks recorded seven hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Thomas, who went 1-3 with one home run and one RBI in the loss. Arizona started Rodriguez, who allowed eight hits and five earned runs over 6.0 innings for the loss, while Graveman and Backhus closed out the game.

Prior to that series, the Diamondbacks lost two out of three against the Pirates and were swept by the Astros in three games. Arizona has lost six of their last seven games and they are currently fourth in the NL West standings. The Arizona pitching staff has a 4.52 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP and a .251 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 524 runs with a .250 batting average and a .325 on base percentage this year. Eugenio Suarez has led Arizona with 36 home runs and 87 RBIs, while Corbin Carroll has added 21 home runs and 50 RBIs this season. The projected starting pitcher for Arizona is Brandon Pfaadt, who is 10-6 with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP over 111.2 innings pitched this year.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers are 62-46 this season after they won game one in this series by a score of 5-1 on Monday night. Detroit jumped out to a lead in the first inning and they never looked back in the easy win. The Tigers recorded 10 hits in the game and they were led by Dingler, who went 3-4 with one home run and one RBI in the win. Detroit started Melton, who allowed five hits and zero earned runs over 7.0 innings for the win, while Kahnle allowed one earned run in relief.

Prior to that series, the Tigers lost three out of four against the Blue Jays and all three against the Pirates. Detroit has lost six of their last eight games and they are currently first in the AL Central standings. The Detroit pitching staff has a 3.80 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and a .242 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 513 runs with a .247 batting average and a .318 on base percentage this season. Riley Greene has led Detroit with 25 home runs and 81 RBIs, while Spencer Torkelson has added 23 home runs and 63 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Detroit is Casey Mize, who is 9-4 with a 3.40 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP over 92.2 innings pitched this season.

Diamondbacks vs Tigers Prediction

Detroit was able to pick up another badly needed win on Monday night, as they try to get back on track after a very bad two weeks. The Tigers are 34-21 at home this season, while the Diamondbacks are 25-28 on the road. Arizona has completely fallen apart in their last few series and they have scored a grand total of two runs in their last four games. Arizona is starting Pfaadt, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. Detroit is going with Mize, who has allowed 4, 1, and 6 earned runs in his last three outings. I know Mize has been shaky, but we will not trust this Arizona lineup right now. Take the Tigers again.
