The Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins meet Friday in MLB action at loanDepot park. Here’s a Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins Prediction. This article will include a Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins Pick.
Colorado Rockies Betting Preview
The Colorado Rockies won 43 games last season and haven’t made the playoffs since the 2018 season. Warren Schaeffer gets his first full season as manager and he has his work cut out for him. It’s still rebuilding mode for the Rockies, who are hoping guys like Ezequiel Tovar, Hunter Goodman, Brenton Doyle, and Jordan Beck can blossom into the core of this franchise. The bright spot of this year’s Rockies team is a veteran pitching staff of Kyle Freeland, Michael Lorenzen, Jose Quintana, and Tomoyuki Sugano. All guys in their 30s who not only know how to pitch but also how to be a pro and survive in this league. It may not result in many wins this season, but that experience can rub off on the younger players and lead to more success down the road.
Kyle Freeland gets the ball for the Colorado Rockies, and he was 5-17 with a 4.98 ERA and 124 strikeouts last season. Freeland is 4-1 with a 3.77 ERA and 30 strikeouts in his career against the Miami Marlins. The Rockies will face off against the Blue Jays next.
Miami Marlins Betting Preview
The Miami Marlins won 79 games last season under Clayton McCullough and it’s enough to earn some attention as a potential wild card team this season. The Marlins have one of the best 1-2 punches in Sandy Alcantara and Eury Perez, who can produce a lot of wins. There’s speed on this roster in Jakob Marsee and Xavier Edwards, and there’s pop at the end of the order in Owen Caissie. The Marlins bullpen should also improve with the additions of John King and Pete Fairbanks. This team is still young and could be another year away, but this is a fun group that’s heading in the right direction. The Marlins should be a money maker this season while the oddsmakers and public adjust on the fly.
Sandy Alcantara gets the ball for the Miami Marlins, and he was 11-12 with a 5.36 ERA and 142 strikeouts last season. Alcantara is 3-2 with a 4.58 ERA and 24 strikeouts in his career against the Colorado Rockies.

Colorado Rockies vs Miami Marlins Prediction
The Rockies are going to be a bottom feeder in the MLB yet again and Freeland isn’t coming off the best season, so there’s a lack of trust here. Alcantara was up and down last season but he was also working his way back from injury. When right, Alcantara is one of the better arms in the league, as he did win a CY Young before he blew out his arm. As I previously mentioned, the Marlins are a young team on the rise that has wild card potential. They have to take advantage of games like this to make it happen. Gaining ground against bad teams early can pay off big later in the year. Opening day is the one day Marlins fans show up. Give me the fish to win their first game.
