Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

This past weekend the Reds took on the Kansas City Royals. Cincinnati struggled in that series, losing all three games for a sweep. On Monday versus the Jays, the Reds powered out a 6-3 win. Starter Julian Aguiar put up 4.0 innings with two earned runs in his debut.

Carson Spiers will start for the Reds Tuesday. Spiers is 4-4 with a 4.55 ERA in 14 games (eight starts) this year.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they took on the Chicago Cubs in their last series. Toronto lost the first two games in that set but stopped the sweep with a 1-0 Sunday win. On Monday in the opener, the Jays gave up four runs in the sixth inning alone. Kevin Gausman managed 5.0 innings with three earned runs.

Jose Berrios will start for the Blue Jays on Tuesday. So far Berrios is 11-9 with a 3.85 ERA in 25 starts. Berrios is 94-75 with a 4.11 ERA in 237 games (236 starts).

Cincinnati Reds vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll probably stay with Toronto. Berrios took a loss versus the Yankees to start out the month, going 5.0 innings with five earned runs. In his two starts since then however, Berrios is 2-0 with just two earned in 14.0 innings.

On Monday the Blue Jays really only had the one bad inning—a four-run sixth. Outside of that the bullpen performed admirably (no earned, one hit and one walk over the last three frames). Toronto couldn’t make up the gap, though. I like a better effort Tuesday.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -143
