The Reds played the New York Mets in their last series. Cincinnati lost the first pair in that set before a 3-1 win on Sunday (and a 1-0 win in a one-off game versus the Braves on Monday). The Reds took a win 3-0 in their first outing versus St. Louis. On Wednesday, Cincinnati took a tough loss 2-1. Brandon Williamson finished with 5.0 innings and one earned run in the start.

Jakob Junis will start for the Reds on Thursday. Junis is 4-0 with a 2.82 ERA and 39 Ks so far.

. The Reds will meet the Twins, Braves, Pirates, and Guardians after this series.

Sonny Gray will start for St. Louis on Thursday. Gray is 12-9 with a 3.84 ERA in 26 starts this year. Gray has a career record of 110-94 with a 3.50 ERA in 305 games (296 starts).

Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

I might try St. Louis here. Probably not touching it, though. Gray had a rough outing in a loss to Minnesota back on August 24 with 6.0 innings and five earned runs. Since then, however, Gray is 1-0 with just two earned in 13.0 innings over a pair of starts.

On Wednesday the Cardinals had another rough offensive night, but it was enough to support a great pitching outing. St. Louis’ bats are going to need a boost Thursday in the finale, but I think they’ve got a good shot at a W.

Andrew Jett's Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -169
