Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

The Reds are coming off a three-game series versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Cincinnati won the first game 3-0, then on Wednesday, the Reds took a tough loss 2-1. In the finale, Cincinnati posted another loss 6-1. Jakob Junis put up 5.0 innings in the start with one earned on three hits.

In the starter slot for Friday, the Reds are going with Julian Aguiar. So far over his first five starts, Aguiar is 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Minnesota side, they played the Los Angeles Angels in their last series. Minnesota split the first pair 6-2 (loss) and 10-5 (win). In the rubber match the Twins bagged a 6-4 victory on 11 team hits. Zebby Matthews started with 3.1 innings and two earned runs.

Bailey Ober will start for the Twins on Friday. So far Ober is 12-6 with a 3.77 ERA in 27 starts. In 84 career starts, Ober is 25-18 with a 3.68 ERA.

Cincinnati Reds vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’m going to go with the Twins. The line’s probably too thick to mess with, though. Ober had an awful outing back on August 26 versus the Braves, coughing up nine earned on seven hits and two walks in 2.0 innings during a loss. In his two starts since then, however, Ober has just one earned over 13.0 combined innings on two hits and three walks.

On Wednesday the Twins had a pretty spotty game—especially on the mound. Minnesota’s pitchers gave up 10 hits but most of the damage on the scoreboard was pretty minimal. I like the Twins to start well on Friday.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Minnesota Twins -217
