The Chicago White Sox and the Athletics meet Saturday in MLB action from Sutter Health Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Chicago White Sox vs. Athletics prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Chicago White Sox will send out Jonathan Cannon for the start here, and Cannon is 0-3 with a 4.81 ERA and 22 strikeouts this season. In his career, Cannon is 1-0 with a 0.87 ERA and 9 strikeouts against the Athletics. The Athletics will start Jeffrey Springs for the start here, and Springs is 3-2 with a 5.64 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. This will be Springs’ second career start against the White Sox.

Chicago White Sox Recap

The Chicago White Sox come into this game looking to bounce back from their series-opening 6-5 loss at the hands of the Athletics on Friday to fall to 6-20 on the year. After this series, the White Sox will face off against the Brewers at home in an interleague series.

Lenyn Sosa leads the White Sox with 22 hits, including 3 doubles and 6 RBIs. Andrew Benintendi has 15 hits, including 4 home runs, 9 RBIs, and a .246 batting average, while Miguel Vargas has a team-high 5 doubles and 7 RBIs. Chicago White Sox vs. Athletics Prediction

I’m on the Athletics here. Jeffrey Springs hasn’t had the best start to the season and hasn’t really looked like the prized acquisition that the Athletics were hoping to add to their starting rotation. However, Springs is a lefty, and if there’s one real issue that the Chicago White Sox have had this season, it’s been hitting against left-handed pitching, as the White Sox remain one of the worst teams in baseball in that department so far this season. The Athletics still have a solid lineup and showed that on Friday in the opener, and let the run line cover get away late, but I think the White Sox’s struggles against lefties make this hard to keep this one close. Give me the Athletics -1.5 here.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Athletics -1.5
