Chicago Cubs Betting Preview

In their last set, the Cubs took on the Detroit Tigers. Chicago was able to win two of those three games to take the series victory. Chicago kept it going Friday with a 6-3 win over the Marlins. In the Saturday matchup, the Cubs rolled to a 14-2 blowout win.

Javier Assad will take the mound for the Cubs on Sunday. This year Assad is 6-3 with a 3.11 ERA in 23 starts. Assad is 13-8 with a 3.08 ERA in 64 career games (41 starts).

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

Over on the Marlins’ side, they were swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks in their early-week series. Following the Friday loss to the Cubs, on Saturday Miami coughed up 17 hits in the defeat.

It’ll be Adam Oller in the start for the Marlins on Sunday. Oller took a loss in his lone start this year, notching 4.2 innings and two Ks. He’s 3-10 with a 7.21 ERA in 29 career games (16 starts).

Chicago Cubs vs Miami Marlins Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Cubs. Assad is on a pretty good run over his last three outings. In that trio he’s 1-0 with a combined four earned runs in 14.1 innings of work. As for Oller, he gave up five earned in 4.2 innings during his first start of the season versus the Diamondbacks.

On Saturday the Cubs were pretty great on both sides. Pretty much everyone contributed on offense and the pitching staff was pretty stout behind Shota Imanaga’s start. I see Chicago keeping it rolling Sunday.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Chicago Cubs -172
