The Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox will meet on Tuesday night in the opening game of a three‑game American League series at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

The Boston Red Sox enter Tuesday’s contest with a 40–48 overall record (5th in the American League East) and a 23–21 mark on the road. The Red Sox offense has been inconsistent to this point in the season. Through 88 games played in 2026, Boston has compiled 357 runs scored (28th in MLB), 154 doubles, a .244 team batting average and 78 home runs which ranks an abysmal 30th in Major League Baseball.

The Red Sox arrive at tomorrow’s game in good form. Boston has won seven of the team’s last nine games played this season, including an 8–1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels two days ago.

Boston will turn to left hander Payton Tolle in this contest. In thirteen starts made this season, Tolle has compiled a 4-6 win‑loss record, a 3.39 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and 74 strikeouts, while allowing 60 hits and 23 walks in 74.1 innings pitched. Tolle struggled in his most recent outing, allowing six earned runs across three innings pitched, in the Washington Nationals 10-2 defeat of the Boston Red Sox last week.

The Boston Red Sox lineup features outfielder Wilyer Abreu and first baseman Willson Contreras. Abreu enters this contest with a .264 batting average, 10 home runs, 18 doubles, 41 RBIs and a .759 OPS. Wilson Contreras has compiled a .284 batting average, 20 home runs (11th in MLB), 15 doubles and 53 RBIs.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

The Chicago White Sox enter Tuesday evening’s matchup with a 47–42 overall record (5th in the American League Central) and a 28–14 mark at home. Chicago has played competitive baseball recently, winning the team’s last two games played, including a 3–1 win over the Cleveland Guardians two days ago.

Chicago will start left hander Noah Schultz in tomorrow’s game. In nine starts made this season, Schultz has compiled a 2–5 record, a 5.86 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP and 40 strikeouts, while allowing 32 hits and 26 walks in 43 innings pitched. Schultz will look to rebound from his recent poor performances on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the Boston Red Sox.

Shifting our focus to the Chicago offense, the White Sox lineup features second baseman Chase Meidroth who has amassed a .268 batting average, 7 home runs, 15 doubles, 34 walks, 29 RBIs, 2 stolen bases and a .717 OPS.

Why the Boston Red Sox will win.

• Starting pitching. In thirteen starts made this season, Payton Tolle has compiled a 4-6 win‑loss record, a 3.39 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 74.1 innings pitched.

• Offensive consistency. Wilyer Abreau and Willson Contreras continue to anchor the Boston Red Sox lineup.

• Current form. The Boston Red Sox have won seven of the team’s last nine games.

Why the Chicago White Sox will win.

• Home field edge. Chicago has historically performed better at Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox have amassed a 28-14 record at home this season.

• Current form. The Chicago White Sox arrive at this contest on the heels of a two-game winning streak.

Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the Boston Red Sox. Why? Boston starting pitcher Payton Tolle has amassed a 3.39 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in thirteen starts made this season, while Chicago hurler Noah Schultz has been far more inconsistent, allowing three or more earned runs in five consecutive starts. The Red Sox also arrive at this contest in good form (won seven of last nine games). With that said, the Red Sox are the side to be on in this one. I am backing the Boston Red Sox on the moneyline in this game.
